# Instant Pot Dal

1. Rinse (1 cup)[lentils].
2. Add the rinsed lentils, [water] (amount depends on the type of lentil), [turmeric], and [salt] to the Instant Pot.
3. Set the Instant Pot to high (or in some cases, low) pressure and cook for 6 to 20 minutes with natural pressure release.
4. Separately, melt some [ghee or butter] in a pan and add (1 teaspoon)[cumin seeds], [dried chiles], [red chili powder], and [asafoetida].
5. Spoon the fried spices [tadka] over the finished dal.
6. Complete with a generous squeeze of [lime juice] and [cilantro].
