Old Bay Clam Chowder

3 slices bacon
2 medium potatoes
1 medium onion
2 ribs celery
1/2 c chopped red bell pepper
3-4tsp OLD BAY® Seasoning
1 Bay Leaf
960 g whole milk
340 g chopped clams
  1. 1. Cook 3slices bacon in large saucepan on medium heat until crisp.
  2. 2. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels.
  3. 3. Crumble bacon; set aside.
  4. 4. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the bacon drippings in pan.
  5. 5. Add 2medium potatoes (peeled and cut into 1/2 inch cubes), 1medium onion (chopped), 2ribs celery (chopped), 1/2 c chopped red bell pepper, 3-4 tsp OLD BAY® Seasoning and 1 Bay Leaf to pan.
  6. 6. Cook and stir 8 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  7. 7. Stir in 960g whole milk and 340g chopped clams (undrained) with juice.
  8. 8. Bring to boil.
  9. 9. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes.
  10. 10. Remove and discard Bay Leaf.
  11. 11. Ladle chowder into soup bowls.
  12. 12. Sprinkle with bacon.
