Old Bay Clam Chowder

Ingredients

  • 3 slicessbacon
  • 2 mediumspotatoes, peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes (about 1 ½ cups)
  • medium onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 2 ribsscelery, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • ½ cupchopped red bell pepper
  • 3 tos4 teaspoons OLD BAY® Seasoning
  • Bay Leaf
  • 1 quartwhole milk
  • 12 ounceschopped clams, undrained

Directions

  1. Cook bacon in large saucepan on medium heat until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels.
  3. Crumble bacon; set aside.
  4. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the bacon drippings in pan.
  5. Add potatoes, onion, celery, bell pepper, Old Bay Seasoning and bay leaf to pan;
  6. Cook and stir 8 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  7. Stir in milk and clams with juice.
  8. Bring to boil.
  9. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes.
  10. Remove and discard bay leaf.
  11. Ladle chowder into soup bowls.
  12. Sprinkle with bacon.
