Simple Roasted Pork Shoulder

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoonsolive oil
  • 3 Tablespoonschopped garlic
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 4 poundspork shoulder

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.
  3. Using a pastry brush, spread the mixture all over the pork shoulder.
  4. Set the meat on a rack set into a roasting pan.
  5. Roast for 20 minutes
  6. Reduce the heat to 325 degrees F
  7. Cook 4 hours or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the shoulder reads 185 degrees
  8. Remove the pork from the oven and let stand 30 minute or until cool enough to handle
